My tomatillo plants appear to be enduring an invasion of the body snatchers, or something. What on earth is this stuff? I've googled for tomato and tomatillo diseases, and nothing fits. The plants are covered with healthy leaves, healthy flowers, and burgeoning fruit. The stems are, well, have a look for yourself.
It looks like parasite eggs, but they don't feel like eggs. They feel like root buds.
ETA: The kind folks at GardenWeb confirm that they are root buds and "perfectly normal".
EEEEEWWWW! Kinda gross! Glad they are normal, though. For some reason the rooty things the orchid puts out grosses me out, too. :o) Your garden is doing well! Enjoy your veggies, samm

On the same continent! Fresh tomatoes! Tonight we had fresh-picked Minnesota corn, and I felt like it was finally really summer. Do you have any tomatoes ready to eat yet?

None ready to eat yet, but all varieties are working on it :)
I found aphids on the tomato plants yesterday, and tried out an organic spray (garlic oil and clove oil, smells terrible but I hope it works). My father-in-law has a concoction involving aspirin that we'll try next.
